Jesse Gooch wants to bring Chick-fil-a to Wheatfield

Niagara County Legislator Jesse Gooch (R-Wheatfield) is voicing his support for Chick-fil-a following their removal from Delaware North’s planned remodeling of its venues at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport.  Assemblyman Sean Ryan (D-Buffalo) publicly disparaged the firm based on its Evangelical Christian ownership and demanded that their lease arrangement be thrown out.

Raising some eyebrows, the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA) made the announcement that it would not be bringing Chick-Fil-A to the airport.  Some wondered aloud why Delaware North (which manages concessions at the airport) wasn’t making the announcement.

“Anyone who has driven down Walden Avenue this year knows that Chick-Fil-A is wildly popular. A Chick-Fil-A location in the airport would’ve been an exciting attraction for travelers that would bring jobs and much-needed revenue to the airport,” said Gooch.

Gooch plans to introduce a resolution to formally invite Chick-Fil-A to Niagara County.

“In Niagara County, we won’t politicize fried chicken,” Gooch said.  “I invite Chick-Fil-A to open a location in Niagara County.”
