The White House grants The Buffalo Chronicle press credentials

The White House has granted The Buffalo Chronicle press credentials that will enable our publication to access the West Wing for daily press briefings — whether or not those briefings are televised.  The Chronicle’s Washington Bureau will launch its daily White House coverage by March 15th and will fund a DC-based team through the presidential election cycle.

Several local businessmen, surprised by the approval, have agreed to fund a full-time Washington-based correspondent who will be tasked with covering the Administration and Capitol Hill for The Chronicle daily.

The announcement comes less than a week after Warren Buffett announced that his Berkshire Hathaway is selling The Buffalo News to Linn Media.

UPDATE: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and reduced capacity seating in the White House Press Breifing Room since this annoucement was originally made, The Buffalo Chronicle’s daily White House coverage has been delayed until June 15th.
