Some of the best stories begin with a reader who noticed something that didn’t add up. If you know about something the public should know (a decision made out of view, money that went missing, a problem nobody in charge is fixing), we want to hear from you.

What helps us most
- What happened, when and where, and who was involved
- How you know: whether you saw it yourself or heard it from someone else
- Documents, records, photos or recordings that back it up
- Other people we could talk to
- The best way to reach you, and whether you want your name kept out of print
Confidentiality
If you would like to remain anonymous, say so in your first message. We will not publish your name without your permission, and we will talk with you about how your information may be used before anything is published. For sensitive matters, consider writing from a personal email account rather than a work account or device.
We verify every tip independently before we report on it, so a tip alone is never the whole story. We read everything we receive, but we cannot reply to every message.
