Ostrowski is being prodded to run for District Attorney

Jim Ostrowski, who has long led the intellectual wing of the local Libertarian movement, is being prodded by supporters to run for Erie County District Attorney this year.

Ostrowski is a prominent trial attorney, author, and constitutional law expert who is widely seen as the leading authority on second amendment issues in New York State. Ostrowski is the son of former State Supreme Court Justice William Ostrowski, a revered figure in Buffalo politics during the City’s heyday.

Should he chose to run, it’s unclear on which party lines he would appear.  As a registered Libertarian, deeply principled in the concepts of federalism and small government, Ostrowski might be able to attract the support of the Republican and Conservative Parties.

Ostrowski declined to comment on any possible candidacy.
