In show of unity, Cheektowaga Democrats rally behind leadership at annual gathering

The Cheektowaga Democratic Committee hosted their annual Spring gathering this morning — heading into an election cycle that could change the political landscape for generations.

Hosted by Mark Wegner, the Town Chair and Highway Superintendent, the event was wildly successful. Some longtime party stalwarts suggested that the demonstration of unity at the event could foreshadow a new day in town politics.

The event was well attended — with Congressman Brian Higgins, County Executive Mark Poloncarz, State Senator Tim Kennedy, and Supervisor candidate Diane Benczkowski taking the podium to rally the party. Even Chairman Jeremy Zellner, State Supreme Court Justices Dennis Ward, and Judge Debra Givens were in attendance.
