Lisa LaFlamme wants to manage Wilson-Raybould’s campaign for Prime Minister

Sources are telling The Chronicle that Lisa LaFlamme is interested in serving as the national campaign manager of former Justice Minister Jody Wilson-Raybould‘s campaign for Prime Minister, which is widely expected next year.

LeFlamme has led CTV News‘ nightly national broadcast for 25 years, until earlier this month when she was unceremoniously fired.  She is one of the most substantial figures in Canadian journalism and is widely regarded for her keen political analysis.

The role of a national campaign manager in any leadership bid — particularly for the Liberal Party of Canada — is multifold, serving as a pivotal decision maker on issues of strategy, policy, messaging, and operations.

“Lisa LeFlamme is a very substantial national figure and would be a powerful and extremely well-seasoned spokesperson for Wilson-Raybould.  I couldn’t imagine a better advisor with more valuable insights,” one source who is familiar with LeFlamme’s thinking explains.  “She would be a force in Canadian politics and would be enormously valuable Wilson-Raybould.”

“She is an extraordinary speech writer, and she can direct video spots that can take her audience on an emotional roller coaster,” he adds.

Former Attorney General and Justice Minister Jody Wilson-Raybould is widely expected to run for Prime Minister in 2023.
LaFlamme has interviewed the most influential figures in Canadian politics for more than 25 years.
