In March of 2011, a Libyan soldier in Benghazi told the BBC that he personally heard Col. Saadi Gaddafi give orders to military commanders to fire on a group of well-armed insurgents that had been roaming the country an instigating political instability. By August of 2011, Tripoli had fallen to the rebel insurgents and the Gaddafi government moved its capital to Sirte.
