Western New Yorkers are infuriated that Senator Patrick Gallivan (R – Elma) refused to support Cathy Young (R – Olean) for Republican Senate Leader, despite a vast majority of members being elected from Upstate New York. Instead he voted for John Flanagan (R – Nassau), who immediately went on medical leave for treatment for alcoholism upon being elected by the caucus.
