The City of Niagara Falls is badly in need of a new water treatment plant in order to prevent discharges of sewer sludge near the Maid of the Mist’s docking station. Urban planners would like to construct a new treatment plant elsewhere on Buffalo Avenue, farther from the water’s edge. A new plant could cost $30 million.
